I just want to let you know how much I enjoy your podcast. As a statistician I rarely have the opportunity to enjoy the complexities of chemistry in my workday.
Your podcast is a welcome source of interesting and challenging science.
Congratulations on a well made programme.
What a whitewash.
I listened to the inaugural episode and was interested. Then I listened to the episode with Mercury as the element of the month. Oh gosh, how is it possible to know about chemistry and not understand the consequences of mercury pollution to humans, animals and the atmospheric and aquatic environments. I concluded that it is probably not possible and that the program is produced in order to lie to people.
I hope that whoever reads this does some research into at least the vaccine and amalgam uses of mercury and stops using them and inflicting them on their family. Otherwise… well … you must accept responsibility for self inflicted injury born out of willful ignorance. And if you do already know and are intentionally passing bad information to innocent people then shame on you.
We are but cogs in a machine. That machine is designed at the moment to devour itself. Wake up and rise from your chains. Let us build a better machine based upon honesty and good intention to all.
Good luck.

I enjoy this series, but occasionally errors occur. For example, in Episode 66 Eleanor Goldberg said, “acetic acid, a type of carbolic acid.” Carbolic acid is a synonym for phenol, an organic aromatic acid. What she probably meant to say was “carboxylic” acid, the general term for organic aliphatic acids and other compounds which contain the carboxyl group.
